YOUR ITINERARY

DAY

01

ARRIVAL IN BRISBANE

Welcome to Brisbane, Queensland!

Brisbane is the capital of Queensland &16th ‘most livable city in the world’. There’s some great nightlife to take advantage of, lovely parks, bustling shopping streets and a wealth of other attractions that will make you wish you had longer to stay!

A representative of BonResa Adventures will meet you at the airport and transfer you to your hotel. Depending on when you arrive, you’ll have some time to relax and rest or do some sightseeing before the tour briefing. Enjoy a welcome dinner with fellow bikers In the evening.

Itinerary day 1 - Brisbane
Itinerary day 2 - Gold Coast

DAY

02

TEST RIDE TO GOLD COAST

We would start off the day by meeting for the introductory briefing at 9am. After the briefing, we we will do a test ride of our bikes by riding to the party town of Gold Coast for a fun-filled day.

Gold Coast is around 90 minutes ride from Brisbane to the south. It’s famed for its long sandy beaches, surfing spots and elaborate system of inland canals and waterways. It’s also home to theme parks such as Dreamworld, Sea World and Wet’n’Wild. For those who love thrill rides can opt to visit one/multiple theme parks situated in Gold Coast.

We would ride back to Brisbane in late afternoon/evening.

DAY

03

BRISBANE - BUNDABERG

First day of our bike riding. After a refreshing breakfast at our hotel, time to hop on to our bikes and head north. We’ll ride through Sunshine Coast – one of the most spectacular hinterlands in the country combining rainforests, waterfalls, pineapple plantations and the beautiful Glass House Mountains. Sunshine Coast is where the famous Steve Irwin’s Australia Zoo is located.

Riding past Sunshine Coast, we would continue our journey to Bundaberg, keeping Fraser Island to our right. Fraser Island is the largest sand island in the world. The city of Bundaberg is known for Bundaberg Rum. The historic sugar cane city of Bundaberg is the southernmost gateway to the Great Barrier Reef. It is fringed by fascinating coral cays, lagoons and 140 kilometres (87 miles) of glistening white beaches.

Itinerary day 3 - Sunshine Coast
Itinerary day 4 - Rockhampton

DAY

04

BUNDABERG - ROCKHAMPTON

Today we will be riding through the Central Queensland to Rockhampton  (‘Rocky’ to its mates). We have two options –  a shorter route or a longer route. The longer route would take us on lesser traffic roads and would take us further into the hinterland of Queensland.

Rockhampton, where the hats, boots and utes are big, and the bulls are even bigger. With over 2.5 million cattle within a 250 kms radius, this riverside city, founded in 1858, calls itself Australia’s Beef Capital with some justification. The city is where the Tropic of Capricorn passes through.

We would spend the night at Rockhampton.

DAY

05

ROCKHAMPTON - AIRLIE BEACH

Those castaway islands you’ve seen in films? Today we will be riding to Airlie Beach, the gateway to those islands. Like previous day, we have an option to either take a shorter or a longer route today. Today will be a long ride if the longer route is chosen. The longer route covers a distance of 621 kms.

Airlie Beach is the vibrant hub of the Whitsundays and the ideal mainland base for fun and adventure in the Whitsundays. It is the perfect launching pad for activities on the water and in the lush, green rainforest of the Whitsunday Coast. Whitsundays is where there is the beautiful series of incredible ‘paradise islands’ just off of the small coastal town of Airlie Beach. It’s well worth indulging in a cruise  around some of the most perfect coral islands in the world.

Itinerary day 5 - Airlie Beach
Itinerary day 6 - Whitsundays

DAY

06

REST DAY

A rest day to explore the coastal town of Airlie Beach.

Those who wishes to explore Great Barrier Reef can opt to go on a cruise in the Whitsunday Islands.

DAY

07

AIRLIE BEACH - MISSION BEACH

A long day of riding covering 515 kms. We will continue our ride north to Mission Beach today. We would make a stop for lunch at around half way mark of our ride today in a town called Townsville. Townsville is the gateway to the Queensland’s far north. The coastal city is a vibrant mix of modern architecture and restored heritage buildings, bustling outdoor cafes, restaurants, boutiques and quirky galleries, all linked by a shady park-lined beach promenade.

Riding another 225 kms today would bring us to Mission Beach. Mission Beach is made up of four beach villages linked by 14 kms of wide golden sands. This beautiful beach side area, blends vibrant art and culture with unique tourism attractions, inviting tourists to relax and unwind.

Itinerary day 7 - Mission Beach
Itinerary day 8 - Daintree National Park

DAY

08

MISSION BEACH - CAPE TRIB

Today is by far the best riding day of the entire trip. Today’s destination is Cape Tribulation but there are lots to see all along the way. A slight detour from the highway to the left would bring us to our first stop – Babinda Boulders. Those who wish to take a dip in the cool waters are welcome to do.

Few of our other stops for the day are – Hartley’s Crocodile Adventures, Rex Lookout and Daintree River. The coconut lined beaches of Cape Tribulation back straight onto the verdant rainforest, a sight that apes many a scene from films involving castaways on tropical island paradises. There aren’t many places on earth you can sit and listen to the soothing bird and insect calls of the forest, whilst taking a picnic on the beach as your motorcycle rests under a palm tree!

DAY

09

CAPE TRIB - MALANDA

Today we will head back south and ride the same way as the previous day until Port Douglas to take a detour and visit Atherton Tablelands, a fertile plateau with smooth, rolling green scenery, leisurely curves and lazy hills to ride around and over. Some of the most beautiful waterfalls in Australia can be found on the aptly named Waterfall Circuit. The truly ancient 500 year old Curtain Fig Tree near Yungaburra is a wonder of nature and well worth a visit. Superb riding around every corner on the roads of this region, where rainforest and farming blend seamlessly into one another.

We will spend the night in a small town named Malanda in Atherton Tablelands. Those who are keen to see a spectacular sunrise can accompany the tour director to visit Milla Milla Lookout early next morning.

Itinerary day 9 - Atherton Tablelands
Itinerary day 10 - Cairns

DAY

10

MALANDA - CAIRNS - BRISBANE

Today is our last day of riding as we head back to Cairns. We will be taking a longer route to reach Cairns by riding across the undulating hills of Atherton Tablelands. Enjoy an aboriginal show in Cairns today.

After returning the bikes we will be taking a short flight to Brisbane in the afternoon and check into our hotel.

Brisbane is where  you will spend your last night to muse, enjoy a farewell dinner and remember all that you’ve witnessed on the far north Tropical Queensland adventure.

DAY

11

DEPART BRISBANE

Depending on the flight, go out in the city and do some last minutes shopping for your family and friends before heading out to the airport.
