DAY

02

MELBOURNE - HALLS GAP

Today is a short ride of 4 hours. Morning would be spent getting our hands onto our bikes and do a test ride. We would start off our trip in early afternoon by riding north west from Melbourne towards the Grampians. Rather than taking the shorter highway route, we would be riding on the back roads through rural Victoria to reach Grampians.

Rising up from the western Victorian plains, and acting as a heaven for bush walkers, rock climbers and nature-lovers, the Grampians are one of Victoria’s most significant natural and cultural features. The rich diversity of wildlife and flora, the unique rock formations, the Aboriginal rock art, the spectacular viewpoints and an extensive network of trails and bush campsites offer something for everyone.

DAY

03

HALLS GAP - WANGARATTA

New South Wales has the Snowy Mountains which you’ll be riding through soon and Victoria has the Highlands. A more relaxed alpine environment than the Snowies, but don’t be fooled, there are plenty of thrilling roads to ride and more breathtaking scenery to provide a great backdrop. Wide open plains framed by rolling hills and jagged mountain peaks, the road stretching far into the distance meandering gently as it weaves through small settlements and tiny communities. Today we will head towards the Victorian Highlands via Bendigo.

Bendigo was originally a gold rush boom town, it’s home to the mid-1900s Central Deborah Gold Mine. Overnight at Wangaratta.

DAY

04

WANGARATTA - TUMUT

The morning ride would go past Mount Buffalo National Park, before turning left north towards the Murray River, the longest river in Australia.

The second half of the ride would be along the Murray River. We would cross over the interstate border into New South Wales mid way through our ride. We would finish our ride today at Tumut, the northern most point of the Mt Kosciusko National Park.

DAY

05

TUMUT - JINDABYNE

Epic alpine scenery in Australia? You bet! Most people don’t realise that Australia has more ski runs than Switzerland, but a ride through this area will soon set the record straight. Although mostly recognised for its winter sports, ‘the Snowies’ as the area is affectionately known, is a playground for those looking for something different and adventurous motorcyclists alike.

We would ride south towards the heart of the Great Dividing Range. The initial ride is along the east bank of the Tumut River before turning left towards Cabramurra. Cabramurra was the third-highest permanently inhabited town on the Australian continent, situated at 1,488 meters in the western Snowy Mountains of the Great Dividing Range. We would continue south towards Jindabyne by riding on the Alpine Way

DAY

06

JINDABYNE - ORBOST

We will be riding today around 230 kms of which 120 kms will be on dirt road.

Starting from Jindabyne we will travel south towards the Victorian border. Riding through dirt roads of the the Snowy River National Park would bring us to the Victorian coastal town of Orbost. Twist through the atmospheric alpine forests, sweep along the winding mountain roads and drink in the fantastic scenery. Whilst you’re having so much fun don’t forget to stop at one of the seasonal alpine towns along the way, or pause for a rest to soak in the alpine view all around.

DAY

07

ORBOST - BATEMANS BAY

There are two routes today – longer and shorter.

Longer route is almost 500 kms long and would be the longest riding day of the trip. We would ride north east initially until we cross the Victorian/New South Wales Border and reach Cooma.

We will have a short stopover at Cooma for lunch and continue our ride eastwards towards to the New South Wales coastal town of Batemans Bay.

DAY

08

BATEMANS BAY - SYDNEY

Last day of riding amidst spectacular coastal scenery. We would ride close to 300 kms today and ride over the Sea Cliff Bridge, the highlight of the entire trip. Closer to Sydney, we would ride through the Royal National Park. Those who are interested on hiking can opt to go for a 2 hour hike to visit a waterfall plunging across the cliffs into the ocean below.

We should reach Sydney by late afternoon. Check into your lux hotel overlooking the Sydney Harbour and freshen up before taking a ferry to visit the Sydney suburb of Manly to enjoy a farewell dinner with your fellow riders.

DAY

09

DEPART SYDNEY

Depending on the flight, go out in the city and do some last minute shopping for your family and friends before heading out to the airport.
